Terms & Conditions
Club Rules
All (Newton) Mearns Gymnastics Club (MGC) participants must abide by the following guidelines in addition to the relevant codes of conduct and other policies that the club adopts. By booking into any MGC sessions, you are agreeing that you have read and understood the club rules, code of conduct and commitment to the club.
These Terms and Conditions supersede any other previous arrangement communication made with MGC.
Arrival and Collection
Please ensure you are on time for classes. Late arrival causes disruption and warm up is an important part of the class. Drop off is via the rear fire door of Parklands Sports Hall. This is the safest place for your child to enter the gym. Please do not enter via the internal sports hall door.
Please be on time to collect your child, if you have arranged for someone else to pick up your child inform the coach in charge. Pick up is via the rear fire door of the sports hall. Due to the location of large pieces of equipment, it is not safe to collect from the internal door of the sports hall.
You must come to the door to collect your child. No child will be permitted to cross the car park to meet a parent in their car.
Pre school gymnasts may enter and leave via both the internal sports hall door, and the rear fire door as per the initial arrangement and must be collected by a parent/carer.
Children will not be permitted to leave with a sibling or any other child under the age of 18.
Please be aware of other Parklands customers and refrain from entering their booked space (this includes badminton courts).
Observation
Due to limited space, we cannot accommodate observation of classes. If a child is unsettled or requires additional support, observation will be permitted by agreement with MGC.
Observation is not permitted on the viewing balcony at any time. Any parent/carer/sibling or any other member of the public on the viewing balcony will be asked to leave.
Where you have sought and been granted permission to observe a class, please ensure you do not use your mobile phone.
Parents/carers are not permitted onto the carpet mats under any circumstances.
Photography
Photography/videography during our classes is not permitted at any time. If you would like to take photographs of your child in class, for example, for school project, this can be arranged via MGC management. Any parent suspected of taking photographs/videos during our classes without permission will be asked to stop immediately and remove form their devices.

*Warm up is very important, try to be on time.
* Inform the coach at the start of a session if gymnasts are feeling ill, have a previous injury or if any medical conditions have changed.
* Gymnasts must wear appropriate clothing. No tops with anything dangling from it or long frills/skirts attached. No skirts, anything with zips, friendship bands on either wrist or ankles, belts or jeans. This protects the gymnast, coach and the equipment.
* Any bands that are worn for religious reasons can stay on but will be taped.
* Long hair must be tied back as it can be hazardous. Please try to remember a hair band.
* Gymnasts must not go on the equipment without supervision of the coach.

* Bullying is not tolerated. Any member who is found to be bullying will be suspended from the club.
* Jewellery is not permitted to be worn in the gym during training. This is a British Gymnastics requirement and your British Gymnastics Insurance will be invalid if this is not adhered to. * Socks and shoes must be removed before the session begins. During winter months, MGC may allow socks to remain on for the warm up however, children will be asked to remove them before going onto the equipment. Refusal to remove socks will result in children sitting out for the remainder of the session.
* MGC accept no responsibility for any property left anywhere on site. Any lost property found at the end of a session will be handed in at Parklands reception.
Fees
Fees must be paid in full before the start of the next term. If payment is not received before the stated date an additional £5.00 will be added to the required fee. Invoices are sent by email and text and we do send out reminders, however failure to pay after the required date will mean your child/children losing their space which will then be offered to the next child on our waiting list.
Absence
Classes will not be carried over or exchanged for any other class time or day for any reason.
When joining MGC you will know what time your child’s class is and you have agreed to that time for the term that you have paid for.
